Across Yorkshire, the ENRICH network now has 33 care homes who are keen to take part in research. We would like to welcome all the homes who have joined the network so far this year.

Currently our focus is on spreading the word about ENRICH. In South Yorkshire, Hannah Hollinger presented details about the network at a recent May 2014 DIGNITY network  meeting in Sheffield, highlighting the benefits to themselves and their residents of joining the network to the attending regional care home managers and commissioners.

In North and East Yorkshire the ENRICH team attended a York CCG care home forum on end of life care a few weeks ago and will also be attending the East Riding CCG and Council’s care manager’s forum and the Hambleton CCG forum in June to promote ENRICH. We will also be attending an event to be held at one of our homes, Highfield Care Home in Tadcaster, as part of National Care Home Open Day on 20th June.

In North Yorkshire we are in the process of organising our first research forum for care staff, residents and families. We have invited local researchers to come and discuss research ideas with the forum. This will be a fantastic opportunity for representatives of care homes to influence future research.  If you would like to take part please contact Debbie on 01904 721956 or email debra.hukins@york.nhs.uk

The next South Yorkshire ENRICH forum is being held on June 9th between 2-4pm at SiTraN, University of Sheffield. This forum focuses on supporting the development of the ENRICH network in the region and involves researchers, care homes managers, commissioners and other relevant stakeholders. If you are interested in joining this forum, then please contact Hannah at h.hollinger@sheffield.ac.uk
